The End (Word Count: 7303)

I’ve started over on my writing project so many times that that’s what I should be counting as opposed to my number of typed words…

At any rate – I wanted to give you a writing update, since that’s really what this blog was supposed to be about.

My current attempt at this project started earlier this month when I began cutting up my 176 typed pages and taping them back together with new notes tucked here and there….

Well… I just typed “THE END”

….Not because I’m done….. Ha! That would be funny. I’m making my way through my reassembled chapters – in a random order – grabbing whichever chapter strikes my fancy at the time. (I’m sure every real writer in the world would be appalled if they read that.) I typed “THE END” because I just finished typing up the last chapter – and it seemed like the appropriate thing to do.

I am inspired – no DETERMINED – to make it all the way through this draft.

I am plowing forward, repeating to myself this little take-away from Big Magic.

In relation to her writing, Elizabeth Gilbert (supposedly) employs the idea that, “Done is Better than Good” I’ve modified that to better suit my needs (because I can accept that my writing will never be perfect, but I definitely want it to be good). – DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT!

I’m steadily making my way through my to-do list. (See Blog Post: Lots of things to do…)

With that in mind, current word count = 7303
